Pond Filter Upgrade Continues

Not much visibly accomplished on Friday, but progress was made.  The Cetus intake pipe (vertical 4" white pipe topped with red tape) was placed and installed.  The two black flexi-pipes returning from the Cetus and the two skimmer pipes (grey):  one coming from the skimmer, one returning back to the shower, were threaded through the holes in the wall.

One additional hole was drilled for electrical conduit (grey, on right) for pump power:

The existing electrical will be removed and a new branch taken off existing supply (beige box at top) will power the pumps in their new location.

The four-inch diameter (~101 mm) flex piping for connecting the bottom drain to the Sieve was lost somewhere on a UPS truck and needed to be tracked down.  It was finally located and will be installed on Monday.

An electrician will come and check the existing set up in preparation for electrical work, also on Monday.

So for the weekend, the dirt will remain out of the hole, and my 'Disneyland' rose is uprooted and sits in a pot until this work is done.

Oh dear, currently stuffed into a pot for a few days:

I think 'Disneyland' will survive, but I need to drag it into full shade for the weekend. which is predicted to be hot.

It was an utterly gorgeous day, golden and warm but with an underlying coolness and sense of autumn.  These golden October days are the most beautiful of all.   Ominously, the tips of the Podocarpus are looking wilty.  I watered again and continue to hope.  The koi remained in "Hey!  You with the food!" mode.
