Boris Was Ill

At least he couldn't swallow the chair leg:

Tuesday afternoon Boris suddenly started vomiting, and vomiting, and vomiting...I immediately took him to the Vet.  An X-ray showed his belly was filled with an amazing number of non-digestible items:  wire, pieces of toys, the rubber tip of the bathroom doorstop I did not realize was missing until I went home and looked.  One shadow was particularly worrisome as it was near the intestines and could create a blockage, requiring surgery.  Boris stayed overnight at the Vets, and lafter an emetic, barium, and another x-ray, luckily the next morning everything passed uneventfully, including a largish wad of crumpled electrical wire.  No surgery required.  Ah, puppies!
I'll miss him at 3:00 am.  Right now, I'm busy:

I was uneasy about Natasha--she'd never in her life been separated from Boris.  Not to worry:  she was oblivious.  If she needed something to chew on, well if Boris was missing, my hand was available.  At three AM Wednesday morning, however, she decided it was the right time to start missing Boris, and did it in a big way, shrieking and howling and crying at high volume.  Ah, puppies!  Now they are back together, Boris a bit tired but otherwise fine, and available for Natasha-chewing once again.  The garden was a comfort, as it always is.  'Honey Perfume':

A particularly sumptuous, deeply pink 'Yves Piaget'.  'Yves' is normally a medium pink.

What would we do without puppies for excitement, and gardens for...excitement recovery?

  2. Thanks, Alan. A friend of mine once discovered her lost house key was inside her puppy. So it could have been worse!
