Beschorneria yuccoides 'Flamingo Glow'

Such a deal!

I owe this one to the puppies.  I've been going back and forth, back and forth to the local medium-box store buying conduit and connectors to repair and protect all the wires the puppies have been chewing up.
 Now it's puppy-proof, maybe:

With every trip to the store, a glance through the garden department--you never know.  I wasn't tempted until this last visit to return the box of conduit we didn't need.  And there, where it hadn't been the day before, or the day before that...

Healthy, straight off the truck, and a great price.
Beschornerias are closely related to Agaves, but have no spines or teeth.  Like Agaves, they bloom once and then die, leaving behind offsets to carry on.  The blooms are dramatic and highly alluring to hummingbirds.

It looks right in this temporary spot, until I can get it into the ground.

Thanks, puppies!

  1. That is lovely. Not seen it in the UK, will have to keep my eyes open.
    Well done puppies.

  2. @Spiky, it's somewhat cold hardy, purportedly to about -12 C.

@danger, because the chances of it offsetting in my zone are about, oh, 100%. ;)
