Digging things out.
Rootball as throw pillow:
Putting things in.
Grevillea 'Moonlight'
Chopping things up.
Agave experiments
Chopping things down.
One rose done, one hundred ninety nine to go...
Watching things emerge.
Oooh!
Dreaming of Spring perfection.
That's my January.
Not everyone here is busy.

Chopping up agave, eh? Planning on making artisanal tequila?
ReplyDeleteThat's a thought--I could use the tequila to kill mealybugs. Actually I'm working to get access to the axial rosettes, to get one out such that I could try rooting it. Curious if that would work.
DeleteThe picture of the Grevillea Moonlight is so beautiful........, but guess who I love most......
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine! ;^)
Delete200 rose bushes! What do you do to prevent the repetitive stress from injuring your hands? Mine are already suffering from the exercise of pruning my much, much smaller collection of roses and my start on rejuvenating a hedge left misshapen by years of sloppy shearing. It's enough to make me thankful for the delays imposed by the weekly refuse pick-up schedule...
ReplyDeleteMy hands are the one part of me that doesn't hurt. Uh-oh...have I just jinxed myself?
DeleteI have never seen a hydrangea with leaves like that! What's it called? I really love the artistic simplicity of this post. :o) Is that chair terracotta?
ReplyDeleteThat's a houseplant (tropical) in the same container as the Hydrangea, so that's why the leaves are what they are. Trying to think of the name of that houseplant--Maranta leuconeura??? What I thought was delicious was the newly forming chartreuse of the Hydrangea flowers that matched the chartreuse in the Maranta(?) foliage. Perhaps it doesn't come across inn the photo, but in person--oooh!
DeleteI like the appearance of your shorn Agaves. It is a busy time now. I always feel that if I don't get ahead in winter and early spring then I won't catch up all year. But, oh dear, 199 roses to go!
ReplyDeleteCaloric
Yes and I'd better get back out there right now...
DeleteSeems you are a busy bee, once the rain have stopped (we are promised better weather from tomorrow!), I will stop watching my garden from my kitchen window and get out there doing something too!
ReplyDeleteLoved the photo of your dog, the right attitude!
Rain, I am so envious! Boris does have the right attitude--relax and enjoy the day. Now, back to work for me.
DeleteI can't get past the Phillipe Stark chair. You have style, girl!
ReplyDeleteThe chair has style. Me, not so much.
