  1. Great photo (even if it did elicit an involuntary shudder).

    1. Thanks--spiders have never bothered me for some reason. Now slugs...different story. Must be the slime.

  2. Loads of them here too, lost count of how many webs we had to destroy just to be able to pass by the garden...

    1. Interesting! I thought they preferred a drier climate--apparently not?

  3. Heh! It's that time of year. They're all over my garden too.

  4. Wonderful shot!

I've walked face first into an orb weaver web before (dangerous time of year for morning garden strolls). Fun times!

    1. Thanks, Alan. Good photo opportunities out there right now. I walk into a lot of webs also. You probably don't emit a silly scream when you do, though. This particular web was up on the balcony, with a guy-wire (I guess you could call it) that went down at a diagonal 15' to one of the garden walls. This is one heck of an ambitious spider.

  6. That's the most unusual viewpoint of a spider web I've ever seen! The spider is in great focus too, queen of the web.

    1. I liked how the light was coming through her legs, making them striped.

  7. They are welcome to go about their helpful lives, as long as they don't position themselves Ina place where I end up with them in my hair. THAT is not acceptable.

    1. Was trying to wash Natasha's backside last night due to an unfortunate--you know. While doing this a big spider crawled up my leg--arrrrrgggghh!
