A delightful, if brief, surprise.

  1. I collected 2.5 5 gallon buckets full over night here. Plus I don't have to water this weekend ! Glad the storm (small though it was) moved down your way.

  2. It looks like you got more than we did. I had a bucket in hand to stick under the rain chain but what we got was more like spit than an honest to goodness puddle-producing shower.

  3. So glad you had some rain. We have had many storms lately, then a brief two days of sunshine, last night it rained again and the fragrance was beautiful.

    1. Happy news that you have been getting rain! The garden the morning after a rain--there is nothing better. Perhaps our next rainy season will be the one to break the drought.

  5. With the drought and water restriction there every bit of rain is appreciated :)

    1. Absolutely! And when it is overcast and cool, there is no need to irrigate.

  6. Hoov, I was at the Huntington when it started pouring buckets, a real deluge. I immediately called home to celebrate, which is when I learned that we were getting zip from the storm. Those foothills! I had to buy an umbrella in the Huntington gift shop. Plant sale was about the same stock as the aloe talk.

  7. It poured here last night -- for a while, anyway -- and filled a big tub and a half. Yay rain!
