  1. That is far more brilliant than it ought to be.

I love playing with dead plant matter: oversized and now skeletonized flower stems, bulbous root crowns, thorny canes. Cactguy hosted a fall earth sculpture event last year that used such materials to great effect, and who can forget Floramagoria's orange bamboo? I've done the same with the thickest canes off a Dahlia imperialis. Apart from rooting when you don't want them to (and that's after a season or two's worth of drying out), they're a nice, if flimsier substitute.

    1. I'm wondering/hoping if Itt can come back from a root. I got a new 'Bright Star' and several dozen 'Margaritaville' that way.

  10. Have been gathering images of spooky-looking plants on a pin board, but this one won't make the cut because Itt just makes me laugh too hard. Brilliant save. Hope the Y. linearifolia can come back, though I imagine that would be a multi-year process?
