  1. That 'Flame Giant's is a great note to start and end on. And the roses are beautiful too! Happy bloom day!

  2. Zowie! Is this the first year for 'Flame Giant' blooming in your garden? I'm completely smitten by all the Leucospermums I've seen via your and a few other blogs, but this one is especially appealing.

    1. Yes, first flowers from 'Flame Giant'. Worth the wait!

  3. Leucospermum, Clematis, bearded Iris, gobs of roses and a PEONY! I couldn't be more envious. My Itoh peony's foliage is up and I fed it recently but there's no sign of a bud, much less buds plural. I remain hopeful about the prospects for both my Leucospermum but I'm also not holding my breath.

    1. No Itoh flowers?!? When your whole garden is filled with flowers? ?!?

  4. You rock, 'Flame Giant'! The others are gorgeous in their own right, but 'Flame Giant' is the headliner here. Awesome.

    1. I'm thrilled with it. Hopefully it becomes a big plant, like 'Yellow Bird'.

  5. Well Hoov you seem to have mastered the Leucospermum ! Once upon a time I had Paul Bocuse, and what a nice rose. Unfortunately it clashed horribly with everything in it's immediate area so I had to dig it out.

    1. The Leucos just seem to love it here. Never would have expected that. Actually the 'Paul Bocuse' is at the Huntington, but I always wanted it so I'm pretending.

  6. Love to see all your exquisite roses blooming! I have Charles Rennie Mackintosh still growing in a container and need to place it in the garden. Looks like it will stay a manageable size and not get as humongous like some of the Austins do in our climate.
The photo of clematis 'Viola' is very pretty with the interesting climbing structure in the background.
Happy Easter to you and your husband. Do you dogs get a special Easter treat today?

    1. CRM has been a petite grower for a decade now, but it's a very enthusiastic bloomer--the best possible combination. :)

Thanks, hope you and your family had a lovely day, too. The pups got some barbecued beef. They were happy. Very happy. I'm lucky I still have all my fingers!

    2. The peony with restio cracked me up -- only in your plant-savvy garden. What a show the garden is putting on this spring.

  8. Holy Moly indeed! When can I move to California? My Itoh has only a teeny tiny bud. Ditto roses. The slugs have had my irises and Leucospermum, well forget it.

    1. Well...Australia looks awfully wonderful, and with a whole lot less people! Maybe we should swap houses, when you get tired of rain, and I get tired of 30c temperatures?

    2. OOOOOO your photo's are a feast to my eyes Hoover Boo and I am very jealouse!!
      Beautiful.
      Have a wonderful day.

    3. Marijke, soon your garden will be filled with flowers, and mine will be dry and brown from summer heat. Then, it will be my turn to be jealous of yours! Have a beautiful day!
