Hemerocallis 'Gold District': Maybe

I'm not sure what the name of this one is.  Does it matter that much?

I wish this one rebloomed.  It has formed quite a clump, sends up dozens of scapes, and for about 5 weeks I sit on the patio and gawk at it, a couple of dozen fresh flowers waiting for me every morning.  For the rest of the summer I hope for rebloom that never comes, remembering the golden glory.  Then it's time to start looking forward to next June.

In winter the foliage dies, leaving an empty spot, filled in with gold by my memory.

  1. You are lucky it comes back for you. I was told the non-evergreen ones will not come back in a mild climate.

  2. Hi Sheila! I was told the same thing! This one was a gift, so I could not say "no" to it. Apparently some non-evergreen ones do come back here. All the ones I have tried come back.

'Gold District' has come back for 7 years, so I'm thinking it is going to continue.

  3. I have two daylilies that are dormant. They are my favorites- they have returned each spring and bloom like crazy.
