August Bloomsday

Photobucket

Brief, though not for lack of flowers, but for lack of time.

The flower of August must be Amaryllis belladonna.  It blooms at no other time here;  it defines August in that respect.  What else have we that only blooms come August?  I knoweth not.

A bit of Perovskia low-key in the background, and Valencia oranges above.  The juice is like liquid sugar at this time of year.

There are always roses.

I posted this stunning Agapanthus a few days ago, but love it enough to post it again.  The more pale Agapanthus blooms in June.  This one waits until August, and man is it worth the wait.

And the dogs are sure laid back and sleepy at this time of year.  Dog days?

I also like that Valencia orange tree, You said the oranges taste like liquid sugar, wow! I've got to place it on my garden list for my future garden there is nothing like your own fresh squeezed juice in the morning.

    I bet yours are delicious!
