After my usual endless dithering, I got down to it and finished the new shower filter for the pond. Old shower on the left, new one on the right:
I made a new spray pipe to sit down inside the new bin so it would not spray the house, as the old one is doing.
Look any better? The interior contents (shower media) is the same. Only the exterior has changed. The two goals were: first, a better appearance; second, adjusting the sprayer so that water will no longer spray outside the filter. The second goal has been accomplished. Has the first?
I'm not completely satisfied with the exit for the water. Some kind of shelf to give a better waterfall effect, maybe? I'll have to ruminate about it.
The Koi could not care less:
That was the trying part of the day. The beautiful part was small plants being set aglow by early morning light. Begonia 'Gryphon' and Graptopetalum paraguayense.
Early morning is my very favorite time of day. The Koi's favorite time of day is feeding time. What's yours?
Feeding time.
ReplyDeleteIf you put a shelf on the outlet with a edge lip hanging down you will get an even flow. I believe. Supposedly it keeps the flow from turning under the oulet.
ReplyDeleteRenee, it's always feeding time. :)
ReplyDeletegreggo, thanks for the suggestion. I'll look into that.
