'Lady Emma Hamilton':
How about those little black thingies on a rose bud?
Those chartaceous lines on an Agave victoriae-reginae:
Softly blurred petals, sharply edged:
...and the tip of a Beshorneria leaf:
The puppies discuss how deliciously crunchy those dried up roses must be:
The grace of a Clematis:
The lavish purple of the flower:
A tiny rose looks big...
Rosa 'Carnival Glass':
A fish looks vivid:
Hey, you with the food!
A startled fish turns water into a Turner Sky:
Goodbye, Summer 2012. Have a beautiful day.

Very nice! I ought to get a new camera....
ReplyDeleteThank you M&G. New cameras are fun!
DeleteI LOVE that fish-blurred water photo! Nice capture!
ReplyDeleteThanks Alan, I was sorry to have startled the fish into fleeing, but it turned out to have made for an interesting pic.
DeleteYour pictures are always great but I especially admire your koi shots! I've not figured out how to avoid the surface glare of the water very well yet.
ReplyDeleteThe puppies, plotting world domination, are cogitating on a variety of topics including dog toy allocations, kibble rations, bone bunker locales, and the constitutionality of kitty torture.
What I learned was: a polarizing filter helps immensely, though no filter on those. Shots with or without flash at sunset, when there is still sufficient light, seems to eliminate all glare. A tweak with photoshop can sometimes do the trick.
DeleteGreat practice! Wonderful photos!
ReplyDeleteThanks RR, I'm trying!
DeleteFirst word that comes to mind for the black thingies on the rose is "stipules," but I don't think that's right. And the startled fish make a lovely "water color." Fabulous macro shots! Sure doesn't feel like the end of summer yet.
