Gosh, that is one expensive plant, it is lovely, you will just have to look at your photos, that's what I do when I cannot afford something I would like. xoxoxo ♡
I knew when I saw it it was going to be expensive but that price tag still surprised me. Maybe in a few years (or 10?) that price will come down into a more affordable range. Years ago I really wanted a yellow Clivia for my former (shady) garden but the early prices were similarly stratospheric and now they're everywhere for a fraction of the price.
Lots of blog chatter about this new leuc. I'm not sure I'm on board yet -- it's so dark unless placed carefully it will make a black hole. And yet I'm not sure I want to set up a permanent high-contrast partner for it in the garden. A container. Yes, I'd try it first in a container. Okay. Want.

Want too, stunning!
ReplyDeleteYes, isn't it gorgeous?
DeleteOoooo la la!!!! Me too... but seriously? That's a lot of moola for a small plant
ReplyDeleteThey were big plants--7 gallon size, but it was still too much $$$.

Good idea. That's what I will do!
DeleteMy sentiments, exactly!
ReplyDeleteSurely they will be cheaper next year...I hope...
DeleteOh my.
ReplyDeleteThey didn't have anything smaller? Perhaps you need to return to the Ruth Bancroft Garden.
No, that was the only size. I assume the plant-nut employees snapped up all the 1 gallons. Yes, a trip to RBG might be cheaper!
DeleteIt was so good until the of the last photo. your comment was most apt.
ReplyDeleteI was disappointed by the price, to say the least.

ReplyDeleteVery true, in a couple of years they will be everywhere for 12.99, I expect.
DeleteMy yellow Clivia is doing well.
Too bad, at first I should think they made a mistake and it should be $ 14.90. Nevertheless it is a beauty but not for that price.
ReplyDeleteExactly! What if the plant dies?
DeleteSheeesh. That's just too much money, honey. But the plant is a stunner!
ReplyDeleteEven if that first "1" was missing it would be too much. But yes, a stunner alright.

ReplyDeleteAha! Gotcha!
DeleteThere's a lot of red in the leaves. Would be thrilling back lit in the afternoon with red flowers all around...when it costs $12.99, that is.
Armstrong's has them in 2 gallon pots for $35 Native sons grown. :) I already grabbed one. I'm surprised Roger's didn't bring in smaller ones...
ReplyDeleteI assume the employees already bought those, she replied as she ran out the door on her way to Armstrong's...
