After 100F, 60 MPH Wind, 5% Humidity, The Digiplexis In Full Sun Is...

The wind has eased.  After three days of near 100F (37 C), with 50-60 mph (80-100 km) winds and a relative humidity of 5%, how is that Digiplexis doing out in the full baking sun?  Scorched and dead, right? photo wtf6393_zpsd0bf272e.jpg
Nope.  Not even droopy.

  1. Amazing, I really thought that Digiplexis does not like it hot and sunny.

    1. I had to check it to see if someone slipped in a plastic version as a substitute. Nope!

  3. Terrible and extreme weather conditions you are experiencing dear Hoover and its only Spring...sorry to read this. That little plant is beautiful and is holding up to the heat.

    1. I checked back on the blog and we had a bad heat-wave about this time last year--then a very cool May-June-July. So not worried yet.

  4. Mine are also performing admirably under current conditions. Our temps haven't climbed quite as high but the winds have been persistent and my little weather station is showing 1% humidity. The plant in the wind corridor has taken the biggest beating and was stripped of 1/2 its petals but its fine otherwise and the other 3 appear untouched.

    1. I'm surprised by the performance. Now, if it comes back next year and blooms next year, it may ascend to the heights that 'Rozanne' has achieved.

  5. Sweet! I've just planted two of these, and since they're predicting a hot summer for us, I've been wondering how many of my plants will do. Good to see yours is coping.

    1. Seriously. A typical Digitalis would have been dead in that spot in two hours.

  7. You have validated my decision the award this plant with 'repeated element ' status.

    1. It passed a big test, but will it come back next year? We'll see...

  8. I hate these hot winds. We had them too although not as bad as you did. Still, my long-suffering bamboos look even worse now.

  9. Already, I liked this plant. Now, I must have this plant.
