'Jardins de Bagatelle':
Big white roses. That would be 'Pope John Paul II', purely snowy white, big in flower, big in production, big in fragrance:
'Jardins de Bagatelle' is even bigger, but touched with pink, and on occasion, touched peach as well:
Then there is 'Secret', even more infused with pink, but the white she does have is white indeed, and there is a pure white sport commercially available.
'Secret':
'Matilda' is not so large, and also touched with pink. However it will out-bloom (and out-rust) any competitor:
Ivory 'Kronprincess Viktoria' wins on fragrance:
'Belinda's Dream' avoids the issue entirely by being completely pink.
'Belinda's Dream':
While 'Barcelona' flaunts her ravishing rouge-et-noir velvet. No false purity for her.

Your roses are just all so gorgeous! I love white roses and I agree with you that Pope John Paul II is a very good one. I am curious, is yours also own roots like mine? Secret is perfect and Belinda's Dream, too! Thank you so much for posting these wonderful pics. They brought quite a bit of joy to my heart today in the morning.

Thanks! Yes it's an own-root.
ReplyDeleteI have a new Belinda's dream and I hope someday it produces roses as beautiful as yours! Lovely!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your response! I am glad to read that you also grow a 'Pope John Paul II' on its own roots that is doing well for you!
