Might be nice to hang off a rose as if it was a giant balloon.
Then she noticed me and turned her head to have a look.
I'm getting dizzy. How about rotating the photo?
I must look just as weird to her as she does to me. Check out that stare!

Amazing pictures... I have never gotten that close to a mantid, nor seen one take one such a cool shade of purple-brown.
ReplyDeleteLooks to me like just the portrait for this months GGW photo contest !
ReplyDeleteWhat a face!
ReplyDeleteWhat a face indeed! The eyes are amazing. There have been a few in the garden this year, and I've found they hang around the same spot for several days running--perhaps they eat every bug in a certain area and then move on to better hunting.
ReplyDeleteks, I had the same idea!
Great look ! Gorgeous pictures !
ReplyDeleteLove this! And I would consider it the perfect portrait for GGW. Aren't they amazing little creatures? I got up close and personal last Fall with some incredible images but my lady is in green. Hmmm...do you think they change colors as the temp changes?
ReplyDeleteI've read they turn color in the autumn. The ones I've seen in summer here were green.
ReplyDeleteVery nice portrait. Different indeed.
ReplyDeleteThey never said it had to be human! I love your idea as well. I'm skipping this month's contest as I also don't have anyone to be in a photo. I love your last shot! Stunning!!!
