Rhodanthemum hosmariense aka Pyrethropsis hosmariense.
Native to North Africa.
Hardy to about 13F.
Blooming for several months, with peak bloom in late winter.
Drought tolerant.
Boris likes the color.
One of my favorites. There is also a very pretty rhodanthemum hybrid called "Moondance." Palest shell pink with a dark brown eye. But of course, it does not match Boris nearly so well.
That little daisy has had multiple serial name changes. Whatever it's name, it's always been about those amazing sepals -- a wonderful photos of a great daisy! (Hi, Boris!)

I must look for that hybrid as well. I love this plant.
DeleteLovely! When I'm on the other side of the sod, this will be the kind of daisies I'd like to be pushing up!
ReplyDeleteLet's put that off as long as possible, shall we?

ReplyDeleteYes the wonderful pattern of black edges they make. The silver foliage is nice also.
