Purple Anemones, Wooly Pockets O' Succulents, in other words a quick visit to Roger's.
I wonder if they do that on purpose, a single errant pink amidst the purple. They did it last year, too.
The pink ones are eye catchers.
On this visit the entrance way Wooly Pockets were filled with Senecio, Dudleya, Sanseveria, Aloe 'Blue Elf'.
They hacked the bloom stalk off 'Blue Glow':
The Aeoniums and Aloes looked winter-happy, while the Euphorbia looked miserable. This will flip come summer.
Acacia
Dianthus? An annual of some sort:
I didn't recognize this tree Aloe:
I loved this wreath, but it was $165. Sigh.
Okay, got my beauty fix for the day. Now, back to rose pruning.
Lovely anemones, they are a spring sign in my garden too, already a few up out of the ground, but a bit too early for flowers. We are still in the grip of the cold weather - it just goes on and on.
ReplyDeleteLoved the wreath, but $165...I assume it's fresh flowers, so it will last a few days, that's all. Hmm...lovely but expensive decoration!
I've never grown them, always chose Ranunculus instead but I think I will try anemones next year.
DeleteStay warm, with all that cold. It was "cold" here today (what we call cold) 15 C but back to 21 C by Tuesday. Cold doesn't last here. The wreath was fabric flowers--can't imagine what fresh ones would cost!
Beautiful flowers, the anenmomes look so pretty, I love them plus Ranunculus. The wreath is beautiful but since they weren't fresh flowers it is expensive and think of all that dusting to keep it clean. The photo was a better choice. :) When I see something that I cannot afford I take a photo unless some fussy shop owner says "NO"!

Yes you are so right Dianne! How to dust that wreath? I would be better off with a dust-colored wreath. The picture is probably the best acquisition. :)
DeleteOh my gosh, I was checking out where to get climbing roses (the ones you said would be best for me) and came upon this blog. Little did I know it's yours!!! I'm still trying to figure out what to do about an orangey, healthy climbing rose. David Austin doesn't have Crepuscule (sold out), which was my first choice. Lady Hillingdon looks more yellow than apricot (even though they say it's deep apricot-yellow), Marechal Niel looks yellowy, and then fI started to wonder if one of these 3 would be good: Golden Celebration, Lady of Shalott, or Crown Princess Margareta. I think that I asked you about 2 of the 3 that I am considering, but I threw out my list when you said the Lady Hillingdon, MN and Crep were my best bets. I'm so confused...Rogers doesn't have any that I want, etc. etc. etc. It doesn't seem like picking roses should be such a big deal, but I've spent who KNOWS how many hours researching, and trying to find various roses...
ReplyDeleteWell, see you Thursday at the TGC. It's a good thing you have your dog's photo on your blog or I wouldn't have known it was you. Too funny.
Small world! :) Chamblee's has 'Crepuscule':

Rogue Valley has Crepuscule in band-size and Reve d'Or, which also might work:

Oh my, meeting this week already. Time flies!
