Seen in the neighborhood when walking the pups, this vignette is part of a beautiful garden. From top left, going clockwise: Cercis 'Forest Pansy', Westringia fruticosa 'Morning Light' (???), Phormium 'Alison Blackman', Libertia perigrinans, Agave attenuata. Not a flower to be seen, but still colorful and lively.
Compare 'Forest Pansy' with a bronze foliaged Phormium--it is more somber in mood:

Beautiful! Even without flowers. Love the whirly jig!
ReplyDeleteYes, the whirly gig adds an architectural shape to all the soft foliage. I like it, too.
DeleteI like your heart-shaped foliage on the Forest Pansy Cercis, I suppose it already bloomed in early spring? It looks good with the spiky variegated foliage.
ReplyDeleteIt bloomed a couple of months ago at least.
DeleteNow that's Fabulous Foliage!
ReplyDeleteNice to drive by when going home, that's for sure. :)
DeleteGood point on the redbud - a somber color, compared to those others. Never thought of that plant's mood!
ReplyDeleteWe all have our moods, don't we?
DeleteA stunning combination of form, foliage, and color. You can always count on Libertia for a nice jolt of orange!
ReplyDeleteThat Libertia adds a real punch. It's nice to see it--not super-common around here.
DeleteGorgeous leaves, colours and textures, I love foliage plants, especially those with variegated leaves.
ReplyDeletexoxoxo ♡
I love variegation too, it's so interesting.
DeleteI like the similarities and differences here, particularly the libertia with the phormium - both are grassy spear shapes, but quite different in color.
ReplyDeleteIt's cool, isn't it?
DeleteLove those Phormiums! Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThat is a super cool Phormium.
DeleteWhat a lovely riot of colors! Fabulous!
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed it, Creative!
DeleteRedbuds are native to my area and I see a lot of the green ones but I really love 'Forest Pansy'. If that garden were near my house, I'd be out there admiring it, too. :o)
ReplyDeleteWow, that is a fabulous color combination! The textures that are represented are also incredible! Cheers, Jenni
ReplyDeleteThat's a gorgeous little spot! I'm now in love with libertia... since my front yard is already full, it's probably a good thing that I'm 2 zones too cold. (If I was just 1 away, I would probably give it a try!)
