Eye Update

My eye is the color of 'Munstead Wood'

Sunday night the emergency room.  Monday all day at ophthalmologists.  Finally a laser "procedure" to stop the bleeding and repair at least some of the problem.  Tonight sleep sitting up.  Tomorrow they will look in the eye again to see if more need be done, but there is much optimism for a good result.  Thanks to all for the courage--I felt it arrive via the invisible plant-loving magic network (and from Beloved), and it helped immensely.

  7. Dear Hoover, I am so sorry that the damage to your eye is so severe and I truly hope that all of the damage can be repaired and you have an excellent result. I think you are very brave, eye surgery is one of the most painful and uncomfortable. Thinking of you and wishing you well dear friend.
The roses are beautiful thanks to your most wonderful gardening and care.

  8. My father spent the better part of a year sleeping semi-upright in a recliner in the living room rather than in his bed, going horizontal meant an eye (as you say) the color of 'Munstead Wood'. Many doctors visits in many cities (Spokane, Seattle, Portland, Coeur D'alene) and it's better now. May your recovery be much much faster.

  10. thanks for not keeping us waiting on the update! Even without injury my tired eyes sometime match the color of Munstead Wood, (whose color reminds me of Othello, btw), and I know how alarming it is to see that color in a mirror. Time to find some great podcasts, remain calm, keep the puppies & Beloved close!

Here's a podcast that doesn't suit our climate much but may be a useful diversion: http://www.gardensillustrated.com/podcast/gardens-illustrated-%E2%80%93-conversation-piet-oudolf-and-no%C3%ABl-kingsbury
