Yikes! Where is all the water going! My little piece of Eden was in turmoil yesterday morning. Pond work continues apace.
Oh noooo! The Koi are scared!
Here they are, safe under a net in the holding tank in their original pond water. They are clustered together away from the tank walls because they feel threatened. If you suddenly lost the world you inhabited for years--you would feel threatened too, wouldn't you? The net is to protect them should they try to jump out. They are disoriented in a new pond.
The guys moved their shower filter from the pond and set it up to run into the tank. This will keep the water as healthy as possible until their home is finished. Since the filter is fully cycled (populated with benefical bacteria) the water quality should not suffer too much. No food for the koi though, until they are safely back in their newly upgraded home. Yes the shower filter is ugly, but poor water quality is uglier.
