What wind looks like:
Stuck inside yesterday--more roaring wind. When it is windy here, it sounds as though the washing machine is on spin cycle. For hours. Spinning a load consisting of tennis shoes. A few more smashed pots, many of the roses stripped clean of their foliage...
Work on the path stopped. I've made it more difficult by deciding to wash and screen all the pebbles before putting them back. The extra work seems worth it.
Hey, you missed a leaf there:
The wind was blowing hard enough to make me concerned about the Agave bloom stalks, but they were fine.
As was Aloe ferox...
When what, to my wondering eyes should appear...
No, not eight tiny reindeer. The beginnings of our first Aloe marlothii bloom!
Cool!

That Aloe ferox photo is wonderful! Great composition and color!
ReplyDeleteI've just started following you, so I'll have to read some of the archives to catch up a bit. :-)
I was excited to see your Aloe marlothii starting to bloom. How large is it? I have three marlothiis, and none of them has ever bloomed. The largest is about 2.5 ft tall and across, which might not be blooming size yet.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting Alan!
ReplyDeleteGerhard it's about 3'x3', so yours is probably getting close. I'm so thrilled it's going to finally bloom. I'll be updating as it progresses.
Great! There's hope that my A. marlothii will bloom within a year or two. Happy holidays!
