(Small) Rock Planter; "No, no, Natasha!"

Photobucket
Just for fun I used a hole saw to drill a cavity into a piece of feather rock, then planted an Echeveria pulidonis in the cavity.   It has been content enough with the rock to bloom.

Slow-growing Echeveria pulidonis has a pure yellow flower.   If your planter is small, a slow growing plant is a good idea.  Feather rock is a type of volcanic rock that traps a lot of air in itself and thus is very light.  It's like pumice, only more glassy.   It can be very sharp, so one must be careful when handling it.  It also appears to retain some moisture for a while, which is helpful for the plant.

In other news, the puppies are so very good.  If they have a little accident, they are enthusiastic about helping to clean it up.

"No no, Natasha!"  says Boris.  "Don't eat the poop!  Use a paper towel!"

"Oh, an extra paper towel!  I'd better pee on it!"

"There!   All clean!"

"Now what shall we do?  I know, let's go sit on the furniture!"

 Puppies.  They're heeeere!

  5. Love you Echeveria. One for my wish list I think. And those puppies are so sweet. Brings back memories, and I only had one puppy to clean up after.

  6. That is Gorbachev. I bought that for Ziggy, a previous dog. He didn't like playing with it, and it got saved until now. Stores were selling Gorby, Thatcher, and Bush I squeaker toys at the time. Bush I is still in the toy basket. Thatcher got loved to pieces.

  7. Called my hubby in to see the pups and he said "some day I'm going to get you one". We both agree with working full time we couldn't get a puppy.
PS - it's so much funnier when you're not the one cleaning up after them LOL. At least it looks like you don't have much carpeting...

  9. Have you always brought them home in twos? I'm wondering if it's easier to train two. They have no right to be so adorable.
