Leucospermum By The Side Of The Road

Leucospermum 'Sunrise'
This happy Leucospermum caught my attention on the drive home.  I believe it might be 'Sunrise' aka 'Earlybird'.  It is growing in a well-watered lawn--so much for needing excellent drainage--a bit by itself.  The property is obviously inhabited by a plant lover...

This particular street appears to be home to more than one gardener.  Across the street someone had converted the area on the narrow side of the driveway to a dry garden...

Next door to that, a blue house with a pink Bougainvillea:

I wanted to look further, but at home, the puppies were waiting.

No doubt they would have been happy to examine the Leucospernum, though not in a good way.  They have been "pruning" the roses along the side of the driveway.  Then they have a shamelessly good nap.

  1. Great gardens. No surprise that the dry one is my favourite. Great aloe hercules and agave attenuata in flower.
And aren't the puppies growing quickly. Must be all the extra nutrients they are getting from eating your plants.
