A couple things. When our newfs were that age, Marty astutely observed that they reminded him of nappy paint rollers. Boris and Natasha now remind me of paint rollers, esp. the 3 month old video. And I wish I could tell which is which. At 2:31 the action intensifies, and one of them starts doing laps. That's gotta be the male Boris, right? And why oh why didn't one of them jump in with all four paws? I was really, really waiting for that as some sort of...I don't know...closure?
2:31, that's Natasha doing the laps. Boris is about 2" taller than she is.
I am trying to figure out the front-paws-only thing myself, and speculate it is because they learned this behavior in their water bowl, which does not admit all four paws. That, or because the tub is still a wee bit tall for them, or because they feel that if their back paws are not in the water, they are not getting wet.
It looks like hella fun, but what the heck are the puppies digging FOR? It's water! Maybe I just haven't been around enough puppies... It does look nice and cool for a pup with so much hair.

It must be comforting to observe that thus far they have not EATEN the tub...yet.
ReplyDeleteDon't think for a minute they haven't tried!

ReplyDeleteWell I bet they enjoyed themselves a lot more than you did with the stump removal. And while they're 'swimming' they're not chewing anything.
