Cactus At Bach's

Bach's in Tucson is a supplier of Cactus and other Xeric plants.  And a wonderful supply it is.
Crested Mammilaria:

Crested(!) Golden Barrel.  This was the "kicking myself for not getting it" plant of our visit.  There's always one, right?

To be honest, labels were not Bach's strong point, but the employees were ready to help and identify.

  1. Love these photos! Cactus are one of those "okay individually but FANTASTIC in large masses" plants!

The plant in the pot with the question mark looks very much like the cactus I've been growing for years that I'd love an ID on someday. :(

    1. Yes the masses were what made them. Fascinating repeated shapes. A good design lesson.

  4. These are gorgeous. I particularly loved the photo of eight different cacti lined up neatly, but each one different - there was some interesting swirling happening down on the lower left. Those shredded coconut cactus spines look soft and slightly pliable - are they?

    1. Soft and pliable? I was afraid to touch anything there!
