Confident Monday Sun Will Shine

Rain off and on since Thursday night--for which we are truly grateful--but it's too wet to get out there and work.  January slips away.  I could only go out briefly between showers to look around.  First grab a snack off the tree...

...and watch the roses nod...

...the Crape Myrtles still look dead (but ain't)...
Photobucket
...the cherries wake...
Photobucket
...the Aloes drip and spot...

...Aeoniums a drunken forest make...

...others bloom.

We are unbothered by Sunday gloom...

...confident Monday sun will shine.

  1. Beautiful rainy Sunday images, just the beauty of the roses would make you smile.
It rained here in the early hours of the morning and continued until midday then some light drizzle, my plants looked refreshed.

  2. Besides the needed water, isn't it nice to know that you have a couple of days where you *can't* do anything in the garden? I know I do at certain times of the year.

  3. Beautiful pictures, as always. I have to go check my own cherry for buds!

    1. Thank you, Kris. My cherries are new, so I'm wondering what to expect.

  4. I enjoyed your blooms and wonderful colors and textures of foliage. I am in Nebraska, where the winter will remain for awhile. It's been mildish, but I am at the point I am longing for spring to get here.

    1. Hi Sue, thanks for stopping by. Winter does get long for most people, but here it's usually always too short. Hope your spring is early, and ours is late!

  5. Rain that's all we have been getting, at least the garden gets a good drenching, your plants look wonderfully refreshed.

  6. After a good month of Portland winter weather, I'm in love with your last image. It's beautifully composed and just so warm. Enjoy the benefits of the rain!
