The stump is out. I had to put a tarp over the hole because it began to rain and I feared a mud puddle. Unfortunately it didn't rain very much so I needn't have bothered. That and setting out the rain barrels must have jinxed our chance for a decent rain.
Sunny again the next day, so I got several roses moved.
A couple more to go.
I need to move that Camellia, too. Still so much to get done.
It was sunny last weekend when we visited the Huntington to see the Aloe flowers.
The tag said this one was an unknown hybrid. I see why they kept it:
A. chabaudii puts on a heck of a show:
A trio of A. marlothii.
Swoon!
Haven't noticed this one before. The foliage was a spectacular orange-red and it was blooming. Aloe mawii
Droopy drapey Aloe sabea:
A sweeeeeet Aloe alooides:
A little sunshine for your day, I hope!
Thanks for making the unknown Aloe known. It is very handsome.
ReplyDeleteIt was even better in person!
DeleteWell done to you for getting that stump out, it woukd have been hard work.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful aloes.
xoxoxo ♡
Thanks. I'm so glad the job is done--well mostly done. The stump needs to go into the trash barrel, but it's too heavy for me to get in there, so I'll have to let it sit in the sun and dry out for a few weeks...or months...
DeleteSo jealous of your sun, and getting to visit all the aloes. Aloe Mawii is one of my favourites, even mine go a great colour. You should definitely have one in your garden.
ReplyDeleteMawii isn't at all common here. I wonder why!
DeleteHi Hoover Boo, are you saying YOU got that tree stump out yourself? If that is the case you must be Superwoman and I am thoroughly impressed! I am glad to see that you moved roses in its place, because that (hopefully) means even more lovely rose pictures on your blog later this year...

Patience is a form of strength.
DeleteOh, those aloes!!!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat to see your persistence pay off on the cercis stump. I hope you treated yourself to a relaxing hot soak afterward for your tired muscles!
Yep, I Calgoned. :)
DeleteDude, I'm in awe of your industriousness! If you ever run out of projects and miss getting your hands in the dirt, you can come work in my garden anytime! Beautiful aloes!
ReplyDeleteRight now I miss not hurting.
DeleteAs far as stump disposal is concerned, perhaps appropriately incentivized weekly gardening staff or SU (Spousal Unit) would be willing to insist. To be sure, very different incentives for both.
ReplyDeleteSU works about five times as much as I do, just not in the garden.
