Yes, glorious marvelous rain. I filled buckets...
...green tubs...
...the garbage bin...
...the black tub...
...the fountain, which was emptied because of the broken pump.
That precious water will deep-soak the trees and shrubs, to help them survive our drought. Each container has a ring of yellow pollen--pine? Acacia? Eucalyptus? Avocado? A little of all of those, perhaps.
Drippy celebration shots are called for.
Rain isn't just rain here, it's an event.
Happy, happy, happy!
It's wonderful! We've got 2.5 inches so far. I laughed when I found myself referencing "rain events" in a post a week or so ago but it IS descriptive of the importance rain has here. Enjoy your rainy weekend!
ReplyDeleteI am. You, too! :^)
DeleteI hope you still enjoy the rain, wish I could send you some more from here, it is terribly wet and there is no day without showers. You captured it beautifully in your pictures.
ReplyDeleteThe plants are happy, therefore I am happy. :^) Spring will be here soon for you, and some sunshine!
DeleteThe grass is always greener as they say, I can only dream of a climate where rain in winter is special event. Here the winter rain event is slightly different and mass flooding.
ReplyDeleteThe grass is certainly greener where you are! (Literally)
DeleteI read about the flooding, terrible. A few small mud slides here in California, nothing at all compared to what your country has had to endure.
Hooray for rain! We in the PNW have too much, and you have too little. California is like a third world nation when it comes to rain. Glad you got some.
ReplyDeleteVery, very grateful for every drop. Very!
DeleteSo wonderful that you have finally had some rain, very happy for you dear Hoover!

Thank you Dianne, I hope you are getting better weather also.
DeleteDelighted for all of California at the rain! We had it in Death Valley on Friday and it made the amazing geology even more amazing! Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!
ReplyDeleteHope you are enjoying your Death Valley visit. Amazing place.
DeleteSo glad that you've finally gotten some rain! Rain here is a way of life in the winter. The question usually isn't is it raining but rather how hard is it raining? Enjoy your long awaited precipitation!
ReplyDeleteWe are, though now it's sunny and warm again.
DeleteI'm so glad you got recharged with some rain. Too bad it couldn't fall gently over a period of weeks, but I guess you have no choice other than to take what you get.
ReplyDeleteWe're up to 3.98" since July 1st. We take anything we can get, with gratitude.
