No thought, no question, no consideration required. No other plant this month comes close to the glory of Lagerstroemia 'Dynamite'.

i absolutely agree. I have never seen crape myrtles looking so good as this year, brilliant, bountiful blooms and no mildew.
ReplyDeleteI don't care if they are common or not, they are wonderful!
DeleteIt's absolutely gorgeous. I've been wary of Lagerstroemia because they always seemed to mildew in the beach city I used to live in but there are some beautiful specimens (grown as shrubs) just down the street so I'm rethinking my position on them.
ReplyDeleteThey like heat. We are just enough inland here to largely escape the mildew.
DeleteExcellent choice, which looks like it wasn't really a choice at all - but rather a demand.
ReplyDeleteA very undemanding tree, I must say. Compelling, call it.
DeleteThat huge Lagerstroemia looks gorgeous, it´s always wonderful to watch plants in other gardens all over the world which won´t grow in our cool and humid climate.
ReplyDeleteCool and humid sounds wonderful right now. I envy your walks in your foggy fields...
