Watch The Birdies

When everyone is hungry, everyone gets along.
Then tummies fill, and arguments commence.
 Hey, beat it!

 Guys!  Chill!
Okay, good.

  2. I guess my hummers are never too hungry, as they almost NEVER will tolerate a sipping buddy. Do you want my HummerBar? It's wasted here (not enough birds).

    1. The population is so high here, but the food supply so plentiful, spats are common but tolerance is high. Hummer bar, I had to look that up. Thanks for the offer. One feeder is bad enough!

  3. They look so cute around the birdfeeder. We have no hummingbirds here, I've even never seen them in my life.

  4. Now I'm going to have to get my feeder in better condition. Thanks for the inspiration!

    1. Feeder cleanliness and freshness is super important! Hanging the feeder in the shade keeps the nectar better longer. It might be easier to just plant a lot of nectar flowers. They love Aloes and Agave flowers.

  5. I love hummingbirds, but they are so territorial. Almost as bad as the scrub jays and squirrels getting into shouting matches.

    1. There are so many here now they seem more tolerant of each other. Perhaps its the drought elsewhere and the abundance of nectar flowers and feeders around here. The scrub jays and squirrels make noise here, too.

  6. Great photos - at best, my feeder hosts 2-3 at a time. The Rufous hummingbirds have joined the resident Anna's here too - there are 2 Rufous that sit in the Bauhina outside our bedroom window (near the Cuphea) every morning but I never have the camera handy at the right time.

    1. So many people around here put out feeders, and so many people grow Aloes & other nectar plants, it's easy street for them.

  7. So cute, your garden must be a haven of sweet nectar for the hummingbirds.
