    Love those leaves. Be nice if I could grow it, if only to watch the rabbits have a go..

      The small, newly planted ones are in little protective cages. Rabbits are a scourge here, too. Yes, the leaves are wonderful. The flowers are a bonus.

    Banksias are starting to grow on me. This one brings to mind the Pop Up popsicles I used to eat as a kid (which is a good thing!).

      The pinking-shear edges of the foliage, which many of the genus have--isn't it great? You are right, pondering that color--Creamsicle it is! There are some petite and ground cover species--many are small trees.

      I hope you can get to the UCSC Arboretum if you have not been, Kris. It was wonderful!!!
