Leucospermum 'Yellow Bird'

2014:  It's the bit of green at the upper left.

May 2016.  Agave 'Ivory Curls' below it had to be moved.
 Yesterday:
Cool!  But...how big will it be next year?

  1. It must be happy! And it looks great... Will you let it continue to get bigger, or can they be pruned?

    1. They are sold as cut flowers (for a good price!) so that is how they are pruned. The flower heads, however, will fall off cleanly without pruning. I like the natural appearance so I will let it do what it likes unless it threatens something non-movable (the Lagerstroemia).

    1. It's been unexpectedly so! I was just hoping the (not cheap) plant would not die two weeks after planting, and look what happened.

  3. Wow! That grew fast! I've been looking through some of my old photos and realizing how fast a lot of my plants have grown, even though it seems so slow in the moment.

  6. I MUST find 'Yellow Bird'! What I thought were the start of flower buds on my 'Brandi' have proved to be a flush of new foliage. I'm glad my plant is healthy but I wonder how long I may still have to wait for flowers.

    1. They remind me of those "wish lanterns" or "sky lanterns" floating off into the dark night.
