Best Buds

Iris 'Eye Of The Tiger'

First buds from 'Easy On The Eyes'
Double Freesia.  Most of the brightly colored Freesias I've tried have little fragrance.  This double in hot pink is an exception, possessing a sweet perfume.

Leucospermum 'Yellow Bird'

The best buds here today.

  1. 'Yellow Bird' is incredibly happy! My 'Goldie' is going to bloom but not on that order. Boris and Natasha are adorable with their pensive "Mom, we're being good, when do we get to go on a walk?" faces.

    1. YB has gotten better every year. Looking forward to seeing how your 'Goldie' does.

B&N love walks, but they love food more.

  2. Silver and gold combination is striking perfection!

    1. Thanks! It makes for a pretty scene. The Agave actually comes off as a very pale blue in person, even better.

  3. Fascinating plants in your garden, I saw the same Leucospermum ´Yellow bird´ last week on our
holidays to Madeira. Beautiful buds post, especially first photo, these two are the best....

    1. How fun you saw YB it in two different places on the planet. So far apart and yet the same.

Yes those two in the first photo are the best, but I am biased!

  4. Your furry best buds are darling. The leucospermum is something I would only see online or at a florist. It is so exotic and beautiful to me. My irises are just pushing up their strappy leaves. I can hardly wait to have such blooms. All of this color and form makes my heart go pitty patter.

    1. The Leucospermum remains very exotic to me as well. I am always amazed it grows so well in my garden. Here more Iris will soon bloom. I enjoy their bright color, even though their bloom period is relatively brief. Soon you will have them in person in your own garden--even better!

    2. Love seeing B&N owning that couch! That's what seems to separate people into camps -- pets on or off furniture. And I second Erin's photo critique!

    3. That's Natasha's couch. She lets Boris and humans sit on it, too. But it is her couch.

  6. Yes it is quite a sight, I go out to look at it and am amazed. When the plants were smaller they were much farther apart and the scene was not as good.

Thank you Erin for your kind comment!

  7. The yellow leucospermum against the blue agave is spectacular and your other buds are nice but Boris and Natasha always steal the show.

  8. As much as I love leucospermums, they can't compete with Natasha and Boris.
