Outside in the dark the wind is roaring and unknown things are banging, thumping, crashing. I think back to a misty morning just a few days ago, when all was quiet and still.
I hope your area remains fire-free during this current bout with the Santa Ana winds, HB. We're already experiencing smoke and poor air quality here due to the Malibu fire. A friend of mine in the Valley has evacuees staying with her and my former high school has been designated an evacuation center. This "new normal" fire season is awful and very, very scary.
Thank you Diana. We all appreciate the support. Terrible fire burning near Malibu today. Watching the news, they are showing there is so much smoke there it looks like nighttime.
Thanks, Lisa. I'm hoping those cool misty mornings come back soon!
Ventura and north LA counties are going through hell. Here we need to be very watchful for the next two days. The town of Paradise in Butte county reported burned to the ground.

It's good to have a calm moment in one's memory bank when things are going bump in the night.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the misty morning at the time...glad I did.
DeleteA few smashed things this morning. Much, much worse up north in Ventura County.

ReplyDeleteHorrifying what is happening in Ventura County (again!). Wind is abating here somewhat, but still dangerously dry. Stay safe yourself.
DeleteStay safe! I have my circle of Californian garden bloggers in my thoughts.

DeleteLove this. Giants standing watch…
ReplyDeleteThat's a lovely way to think of it.
DeleteOh those devilish winds. I hope all is ok. It is good that you have a pleasant memory to hold on to in the wind.
