They Can Make A Day Beautiful

Drat!  Killed this little Sanseveria.  Hate it when I let that happen.  First it was getting too much water, so I moved it away from irrigation, then it didn't get any water at all.  Did it die of rot, or thirst?

Wha!??!

Don't you love it when a plant surprises you?

It makes a day beautiful.
What plant has made your day lately?

  1. Loved this - so happy for your surprise. Nothing that equals this springs to mind but I have been noticing that the leaf buds on my hydrangeas are shedding their outer jackets and showing green. I want to say "No! It's too soon! We aren't even out of January yet."

  2. You can't keep a good plant down! I looked at my Freesia foliage this morning after Saturday's rain and discovered there were buds everywhere, which made me happy.

  3. A small miracle!
I am enjoying my white Gauras dancing in the breeze, feeding the bees and taking whatever the weather has to offer

    1. Love-hate with Gauras. They seem to either look fabulous or horrible, with nothing in between. The white are my favorites--they sparkle when they dance!

  5. What a wonderful suprise this plant brought you!! In my garden it is the Helleborus at this moment. It's exciting to see the first flowers of the year.
    Have a wonderful day

  6. Curious what actually caused it to look like that, for such a tough plant. Glad it’s alive!

    1. Santa Ana winds @ 50mph with 7% humidity, apparently.

  7. Nothing as dramatic as this. I had way too heavy of leaf mulch over the Galanthus in my garden. They should have been up by now so I uncovered them to find them stretching way above ground trying to find the light. They went from white to yellow and now turning green and making buds.

    1. How cool! They are tough despite their dainty beauty.

  8. It would maybe prefer afternoon shade, and not much water?

    1. My bad, my neglect. Sins to confess: it was in full shade and sheltered, the pot sat in a dish in last year's rain and got too wet for too long, then being in a tiny pot, it was vulnerable this autumn to our Santa Ana blowtorch winds. It will get better treatment now!

  9. Anything green would be a miracle here .. I am watching a snowstorm at the moment and knowing we have months ahead of the white stuff .. so I try to contain my jealousy with gardeners that have plants to play with now .. I just have to soldier on and now EVENTUALLY my turn will come ? LOL
Loved the sky picture ... I am hoping to catch the full Wolf moon at on Friday or the weekend.
Knowing my luck there will be a white out again ? LOL

    1. Time to plan for Spring! The downtime here is Summer when it is too hot to go out and do anything.

I guess we all are at the weather's beck and call in one way or another. Best wishes for a beautiful view of the moon.
